Unfortunately, word has gotten out to home countries about successful entries into the United States this year, and now as many as “35,000 is on an infamous migrant passage through which migrants have long funneled from South America to North America: the Darien Gap” according to a report from the Center for Immigration Studies.
Once again, I must insist that President Trump act in a more aggressive manner in his tactical and strategic movements to fix the issue at our southern border. Our military should be deployed in full force until a wall is completed, and after. They must be tasked with operational rules of engagement and it must be declared once and for all that our military was not just created to fight on foreign lands but to protect our nation from foreign invaders.
This is no longer a matter of families not being kept together despite their own choices to disobey the law and put their children’s’ livelihood in harm’s way. No, this is becoming much more. This is a terrifying national security issue. It is not just Mexico we need to worry about. Todd Bensman of the Center for Immigration Studies reports:
“Unusually high numbers of non-Latino migrants, obviously not from Central America, are now reportedly passing from Colombia through Panama on their way to the U.S. southern border. Their numbers range to the tens of thousands, whose vanguards we have already seen at the U.S. Southwest Border in recent months: Cameroonians, Ghanaians, Congolese, Haitians, Cubans, and some from the Middle East.”
We have the liberals and their sanctuary cities to thank as well. Migrants are also learning and understanding what a sanctuary city is. They are under the impression that all they need to do is make it to one of our backward thinking cities and they will be free of any consequences. Let’s hope Trump makes sure that is NOT the case.
